I think a lot of hype for such expensive amps.

I supposed one could purchase one and have the bragging rights, and feel they are the "chose one" and feel they are the privilege one owning such an amp.

And this person will feel superior to everyone else yet can't even strum the intro chords to Smoke On the Water.

Well I'm sure that the price to quality of tone ratio is out of whack but that's how it is with anything that is boutique quality and offered in very limited numbers.

Is a 15,000 dollar guitar really that much better than a 1,500 dollar guitar?

I don't think so.

I think out of the 3 i would go for the Komet.
They all sounded pretty good but the Komet stuck out for me.

I hope im right about this...but I believe i've seen Komets go for around 3K to 4K on ebay...Not cheap by any means...but I believe the Wrecks go for around 20-30K...

It's a very easy circuit to build, all the info is located at:

I absolutely love the vibe of the Komet, killer crunch. I'ver heard ya gonna crank those loud to get'em to sound good. That dude in the video plays on tour with Chris Cornell and is a extremely talented guy. Gotta remember with those kind of amps ya gotta have the right touch or things can get messy. Don't get me wrong I don't hide behind distortion its just those amps have a very touch sensitive vibe. That dudes clips really get me wanting one especially the clips with the 335.

How much did it cost total to put together that Wreck Clone? It looks really great! However, since I can barely screw in a light bulb, I don't think building amps will be in my immediate future

About $400 including the wood for the head cabinet.

It sounds close to the ones in the video, very touch sensitive, very loud as well. I sold it to a gigging musician here in San Antonio and he plays it live all the time. I will probably build another one sometime as I have all the parts, etc. Never did give her a name.........Jane Doe (ha)

I'd love to play one of those clones...Sounds like they are pretty awesome. I loved the way they sound on the clips. If you ever sell another one let me know.

In descending order: Komet, Trainwreck, and last Dumble.

I dunno, I guess I've never dug the Dumble sound. At least, it doesn't sound like an amp that would cost that much. Whereas the Komet and Trainwreck both have a super awesome crunch, that is pretty rad, yet I still question whether or not its worth the price...
