Koch amps are very good, great tone but they aint too versitile, lets just say they aint a MKIV :)

Really good though

I have one of the multitone 2X12 models. It can be used for everything that I can think of....cleans, hairy cleans, crunch, grind and flat out distortion are all in there.

I tried one of those when I was down south and it was incredible, pual reed smith uses one and he used to use boogies so they cant be that bad,I also had a TC Electronics G System dvd and the guy (someguy named Coop deville Im sure)was running two in stereo and it sound great

Does it do Fender cleans, Marshall crunch and Recto chug-ga-chug grind distortion?

No, it has a great clean channel that is more like a Hiwatt, it chimes but has a real midrange pop. THe crunch is Marshall like and defined. High gain sings on this amp, not like a recto at all.

I've just purchased a Koch Multitone 2x12 Combo & will leave a review here once I've had a chance to fully check it out. It should be interesting because I've been a die hard boogie user since '89 & have owned for demo many other high end brands that have never replaced the triaxis rig that I've used for the last ten years!

Here's a link to some clips of the Koch I found online. I'll try and get my own clips up sometime also.

I have owned two Mark IV's and the Koch Twintone II I recently bought smokes both of them! Both in versatility and tone. The biggest thing is that unlike the Mark IV you cannot get a bad sound out of them...where if you don't dial in the Mark IV righ it can sound like doo-doo.

I couldn't agree with you more bro! I've been using Boogie's since '89 (My first MkIV) and have owned 3 other MKIV's since then, a MKIII, a couple Triaxis' w/ every Boogie Power amp ever made, a Stiletto, a Roadster, and a Nomad. The Koch Multitone 2x12 I bought off e-bay for a steal smokes them all!

Though I don't have the Twintone, the only thing I'd disagree with you on is that you can't get a bad sound out of them. The Multitone I have has an EQ tonestack very similiar to Mesa's. A little goes a long way, and very unconventional 'ala Marshall or Fender. Nevertheless, it still kicks major ***!

One thing I am dissapointed in with Koch is their customer service. I've sent them a few e-mails and have not heard word one from them yet? From what I hear this is common with this company. This really worries me in the event that I ever need tech support etc. Oh well, such is life............

I have an 01 Koch Multitone 2x12.
Very versitile amp with awsome cleans and barely breaking up tones, the high gain is more ENGL than Boogie to my ears though it is truely a unique tone that only Koch has.
I have other amps aswell, Soldano, Marshall, Randall, peavey, Fender, Vox but the Koch is my go to amp for performing live, rehersal, and recording.
I have found that the Ruby STR selects that came in it from the factory are OK at best. Currently running JJ EL34 or Groove Tube EL34M. Both are in that "Mullard"tone zone. In the preamp I'm running N.O.S. Sylvanis but have used EH tubes extensivly with success.
Mine is stock but I have found Greenbacks have definetly improoved the sound quality. I may change out to greenbacks and run it on triode mode all the time... I currently run it in triode mode 90% of the time with spkr damp set to "lo".

Those sound sample above are from my site I do apologize for the one that came out very fizzy... I ended up having some digital clipping and overal the results were not so great.
Personally I find the Koch Multitone does vintage warm cleans very very well, vintage barely clipping overdrive tones very very well and high gain ala the late 80's very very well. I can easily get a very Soldano like tone but as was mentioned before this amp is very tweekable and a little turn of the dial goes a long way.
