Yep, just getting ready to go pick up my MV Head.
GGuitars in New Haven, CT. They left it untouched
so I could unpack it myself. Thoughtful Chaps!
Ordered 1/20/09. It's gonna be a fine weekend!
Cheers! :D

Mark V Head
Mark IIb combo
1x12 Mark Cab
Roadster Head
Stilletto Deuce Head
Recto 2x12
Roadster 2x12

Congrats dude! But I thought GGuitars went out of business a couple of years ago?

I just happen to call MY GC while they were unloading the UPS Truck! My Head has arrived!!!! :p I ordered it January 20th. I think I'll be leaving work early, if you know what I mean!

GGuiitars is alive & well. Nice shop. Boutique amps & some
real nice guitars/bass's. Check out their site here:

Unpacked the MV head at band rehearsal last night. Band mates are
very amp-wise (they use Bogner, Reinhardt, etc.) and it was well received.
I'm pretty picky about my setup, but I was able to get some great tones
happening within 5 minutes without much tweaking. LOVE Mark 1 thick setting.
Great heavy rhythm crunch. Some people have commented that this mode
is too dark. I was using a Custom PRS 24 with 2 Egnater Rebel 112X cabs
and it was awesome. 45 Watts. Think Barracuda tone with more bottom.
I've never played a IIc, so I can't compare that, but I've got a Mark IIb combo.
The IIc mode is very useable for heavy chord work, sits in the mix easier and
cuts through while still remaining articulate. Channel 1 Clean & Fat are awesome.
set at 90 Watts. IMO, much better cleans than either my Roadster or Stilleto heads.
Sounds like it has a touch of compression as well. With a VG strat, chan 1 sounded great
for crisp rhythm or jazz work.
Haven't had time to try IV mode or Extreme yet. Having too much fun with the others.
It's going to take while to explore everything.
Haven't tried it with my Recto or Roadster 2x12 cabs yet. No doubt it will be nice.
I'm extremely pleased with the amp. Right out of the box it sounds great!
Unless you're looking for a very specific sound, I think you'll be hard pressed
to find much this amp can't do!
