So, I just got a series 1 rectoverb, and so far I love it. It's a little beat up, and it looks like whoever had it before the kid I bought it from didn't play it much and kinda left it lying around. The master volume pot for the clean channel is a bit loose and janky, and to make it sound good, i have to shimmy it up with a pick. Also, when I opened it up, it was pretty dusty, and the spring apparatus for the reverb is just bouncing around in there.

My first question is does anybody know what kind of pot i need to buy to replace the master volume? And possibly where I can get them?

Secondly, where and how is the reverb apparatus supposed to be secured to the amplifier? honestly, I was thinking about taping it down with electrical tape.

Also, is there any kind of maintenance you all recommend that I get done since this is a rather old amplifier and it doesn't seem to have been worked on recently?

Hi. Former owner of a v1 Rectoverb, myself.
As far as where to buy a pot, I've never had to buy one, but I imagine Mesa sells parts direct. (707)778-6565 m-th 9-5 pst

As for the reverb tank, mine was secured to the bottom of the cab in a leather pouch, with velcro straps. Either fab yourself up some kind of hold-down brackets, or again, contact Mesa. I'm sure they'd be happy to help.

As far as maintenance, I'd really, really, recommend a power tube change. When I got mine (used) I sounded pretty good so I just rolled with it. Played it for about a month and wasn't real impressed. Threw some new power tubes in it, as well as a different V1, and bam, night and day. Wish I had done it from the start.
Looking back, I was kind of silly about that. I certainly wouldn't buy a used car and not change the oil, right?
