Not to sound like a jerky Petrucci fan.....but..have you ever noticed that JP's C+s on Six Degrees of Inner Tourbulence have a little pot instead of the Footswitch jack...? If i remember correctly...that pot controls the amount of EQ signal....!! Don't really remember who told me that!!

p.s. That was the best tone he ever had on live situations....!! (IMHO)

One thing for sure is he's using 2 amps for stereo left right wet FX and one for Dry (Slaving it thru the FX rig and sending it back thru the amps for a stereo power amp effect) The big guys are doing this these days rather than running say a 2:90/
 
EVH has been doing it for two decades. I think it is a great setup. Running two into a switcher is a pain due to ground loop hum. I want a Mesa High Gain Amp switcher badly.

Too bad those MHGAS don't take the speaker load and are not midi. Nice to combine preamps into one output though.
