What does/has John Petrucci use/d for chorus with high gain tones? Especially rhythm tones?

Does he use his Eventide in the effects loop, in stereo? Or a chorus pedal set fully wet on one amp and run a dry amp on the other side? Or what?

Please post if you know, or have any kind of idea, thanks.

T.C. Electronic 2290. Usually.

He's using pedals for that now. In front of the amp in a Axess Electronics GRX4 loop switcher. He's frequently swapping pedals at all times, usually the boost pedals. Currently he's using a MXR Stereo Chorus or a MXR EVH Flanger. :D

Well HE told ME that he uses the 2290! SO HA! ;)

PS - don't see a big yellow MXR chorus in that photo...

PPS - He didn't tell me anything. I just wanted to feel cool...sigh...

:)

Yes, well, lately he started using the MXR Stereo Chorus, then he swapped the pedal for the EVH Flanger, and started using the 2290 for chorus again, obviously. And yes, he has been using that for a very long time now.
He probably puts the chorus of the unit in front of the amp, though, so it's basically still the same setup.

It's also a chorus unit. I don't think it does reverb, though...

So funny to see Petrucci using those $70 stomp boxes...after years of using $1000+ rack equipment. Cute!
