Would they be good, or would another brand be better? Which tubes would be good in a Mark III? I like in tones:
Rhythm tone: VERY VERY tight dark middy metal rhythm tone with punchy mids, tight lows, and smooth high's, very little gain (for metal that is)
Lead tone: Again, VERY VERY tight, smooth, screaming leads
Clean: Warm jazzy clean tone, very clean

Help me out?

I recently put JJ's power and preamp tubes in my 1988 Mark III blue stripe and they rocked! I then tried Ruby's in the middle and it actually sounded bit better but sucked in the outer sockets. Also tried Groove Tubes, EH's, Sovtek and Winged "C"'s but the JJ's were consistent through out. I would go with JJ's...imho.

NOS in V1 and V2 and if y'all got the simul - class try stock Mesa EL34 in the out side and TAD 6L6GC on the inside. I tried tons of EL34's and for the money the plain old Mesa EL34's are great and if you save your receipt your covered for six months no questions asked. The "Winged C" Svets are super duper as well.
I used to like JJ (and still do like the EL34L) but I found that they can be kind of mid heavy and dark in some amps, and every set of 6L6 I purchased had some weird problem around the seven month mark.
