Hey! How goes it?

i am thinking about trying this thing out through an interface. Where is the line out on this amp so I can connect it? I am definitely a noob with this amp, haha. Thanks!

Use the slave out. It's going to be a little bit hot so watch the levels. Also, it's going to sound like complete ass, so you'll want to use some speaker impulses.

A speaker impulse is basically a .wav file with all the information of a certain power amp going into a certain speaker going into a certain microphone in a certain position in a certain room. You have to get a plugin for your DAW that can understand those files. For example, you could have an impulse of a vox power amp going through a v30 into an SM57 placed at 45 degrees on the dustcap close-mic'd. When you plug your Mark V in and use the speaker impulse, it'll sound like you're slaving it into that setup and then micing it. You can also get weird speaker impulses of certain amps playing in weird settings with certain mics. For a while I wanted to make a speaker impulse of my amp playing in a parking garage.

ok. Sounds kinda like what you can do using a pod x3. Mic placements, room setting, amp and cab settings. I believe it is called A.I.R settings. Thanks!

whatever you do, make sure you always have a speaker load (cabinet) hooked up to the speaker outputs.

Kinda the same ...but not quite. Download Kefir Plugin for instance and load it in your DAW and use the impulse files (seperate downloads) to play around..you'll see that you get WAY better tones and sounds using impulse responses on a direct signal as opposed to using the modellers on your processors. Turn off the Cab and Mic sims on your processor and then bring it up on your DAW side, keeping Input Monitoring turned on the armed recording track...and listen for yourself :)

Also, Dom is right - in case you don't want to have to do that, buy a THD Hotplate instead to act as a load for your amp head...

all right. What is a daw again? Is this kefir plugin free and does it work with reaper.

DAW just stands for Digital Audio Workstation if I'm not mistaken. Never used Reaper so I can't answer that.

KEFIR is free ...and works great..I forget where I got it from online...but anywho
I get it to work with Reaper (licensed) as well and it works brilliantly!
