Is the graphic EQ post pre-amp or part of it?

well, in theory anything from the guitar input and after that isn't the power amp (power tubes, ot, etc.) is all preamp. it is certainly not after the power amp section.

the last thing before the global master volume/solo boost is the geq. i would say it's "part" of the preamp. sorry to be technical. hope it doesn't ruin your tweaking :p

Think of it this way, the bass, mid, and treble knobs are pre-distortion (gain) EQ, the graphic EQ and presence are post-distortion.

Dom
well that's not the whole picture either cause on a couple of the tone stacks, they come after a stage of the preamp and there is still some distortion to be had by the power amp section

now we're getting technical...sorry. i'm an engineer. i can't help it.

Perhaps a more accurate question would be, "Is the Graphic EQ pre- or post-Lead?", as one aspect of the design is to shape the EQ after the Lead channel distortion takes place. It's the reason you have the option to add the GEQ only with the Lead channel.

The GEQ can be applied to any or all of the channels, not just channel three.

Isn't it right to say that, in the Mark series, the GEQ is usually post-master?
As far as I know, the only Mark that had a pre-master GEQ is the Mark I.
