Hey guys, I have a Mark III no-stripe short head. I am thinking about removing the fan because it really gets in the way when I have to swap preamp tubes. I have big hands so I have to almost completely pull the chassis off the head shell to be able to access the preamp tubes.
Is it safe? I have other tube amps, including other mesas and none of them have a fan on it, so I think it should be ok without it? Or does the Mark II get hotter than any other amp?
I normally play 1-2 hours daily, but my master volume is rarely past 2...

Thanks

Bill

Hmmm, I'm putting my III in a head cab. Should I take the fan from my rackmount and mount it in the head cab, or just leave it fanless?
