Hey All,

I have a question about installing new 6L6 power tubes in my Nomad55. I noticed that there are two metal round clips around the plastic base of the tubes. Could somebody please advise me as to how these work? Do I have to bend them out of the way to pull out the old tubes and install the new ones? Do they push apart or somehow - please advise...

Thanks in advance :p

Those metal clips are tube retainer clips. They are supposed to keep the tubes where they are. You may need to push them away from the tubes a little bit. When you take the tubes out you can rock them in a small circular motion to help ease them out.

Thanks guys! I was able to "tackle" the job and have my new pair of 6L6's popped right in there. I now understand the "bear trap" concept on these. :p
