I played tons of guitar through high school; but as I went through college I stopped and now that I'm building my career I just don't have the time to play. I sold a lot of my equipment a few years ago while I was in college but held on to some stuff. I'm at a position where I have my Mesa 2:100 poweramp but no cab to play through, and no intention of continuing to use the 2:100. What I'm curious to know is... what's the ~market value for a 2:100 these days? I'm intending to sell locally so this isn't a solicitation in any sense.

I purchased the unit brand new several years ago when it was ~new. Probably played <100 hours through it before I left to college. It's been sitting dormant in my rack since then.

I've tried to do searching online (Ebay/Craiglist/for sale lists/etc) to get a sense of market value... but I've hard time just finding a 2:100 listed. :(

Any thoughts/inputs appreciated.

How old is it? Is it still under warranty? When was the last time you had it serviced?

I've seen them in the $400 - $600 range for used gear (slight rack rash, moderate use, etc).

If it's in pristine condition you can probably get $650 for it, but I haven't seen them go for much more than that. They are loud as f**k and really have no use outside of the arena/open air/large club venues. I owned one for a bit and (while I miss it) it was certainly louder than what I needed.

PM me some pics and I can give you a better quote.

I sold mine in 2006 for $800, however there was more interest in them at the time. Interest in dedicated rack pre/power amps are on the decline and prices have been following.

I don't know if the Fractal Audio forum has a for sale section, but the guys using that preamp are the only crowd that seems to be on the increase. If you can't sell locally it may be worth putting an ad up there.

Wow. Value is definitely less than what I figured; but things do change, it's been several years.

It was purchased in ~2005 or so. I'm sure the warranty is well expired.

I never got much use from it because of how loud it was and then never being home while I was out to school.

It's almost worth just holding onto it given how much I spent to buy it initially. lol

Yeah. Sorry brohagen. It's a loud ass amp. Definitely market it towards the Fractal crowd. Those guys have more money than the Mesa guys for sure.
