I going to pick it up first thing in the morning. The wait is absolutely driving be batshit insane!!!! I can't wait :D :D :D :D

Now, I have a few questions.

1st. There is a piece of tape on the back that says "NJ Mod). Anyone have a Idea what this means? The shop owner (who I know, and trust" is telling me he knows the previous owner who is the original owner, and I'm told that the amp is 100% stock. But I just want to know if anyone knows if that could be a factory ordered mod?

2nd. It's running the 6L6/EL34 combo. What's the general opinion of that combo in these amps? I prefer all 6L6's in my Mark IV, but the III sounds good now. So is it worth getting another pair of 6L6's or do most like the EL34's more?

3rd. This amp has tons of low end, way more than my IV. Is this normal? It's not the splaty/ugly low end from turning the Bass knob up. It's very tight and resonant, it just surprised me how much I needed to lower the lows on the graphic to compensate.

And last, but not least..... Anyone has any suggested settings? Every things cool. I go from clean blues sounds, to modern low tuned metal.

Thanks

Oh..... I almost forgot. It's a Simul-Class Head, Graphic, Reverb

Just enjoy!!!!...I love my red stripe...I would love to find a red stripe coliseum...as far as settings go,I always find myself either pushing in or pulling out some knobs to change things up a bit..but it sounds great every way i play it..!!

Congrats my friend. 8)

Ive owned 3 mark III until I finally got a Mark IV, never looking back. the mark III have a good bit more low end, but that same low end is very achievably on the IV if you know how to dial it. My settings for the mark III for the lead channel were usually like, volume 9, treble 9, bass/mids 1, lead drive 8-10 (depending on how brootz), with pretty much every pot pulled and presence usually at 6 or 7, graphic EQ was a V with the right two sliders slightly lower than the left 2. i was very happy with it, too bad these settings make the clean channel sound like absolute ass. (reason i got a IV)

The III is such a great amp it would be hard for me to ever get rid of it even with the shared EQ. I definitely like the overall feel/sound over the IV too, even though the IV is amazing sounding. It's just personal preference, really.

All the Best,
~Nep~
