Is anyone as interested as me in finding out what the sub bass cap is what the original value was?

I love the iic+ mode sound but need the looseness of the bigger bass cap. What we need is someone who can ask Mesa the spot on a diagram and value.
At this point, any info would be helpful.

You should edit the title of your thread to include the cap & value info so it can be found more easily in a search.

You would have to take it to a certified MESA amp tech (listed on their website) for the capacitor swap to keep from voiding your warranty. The tech could get the info from Boogie, for sure.

So that's fine? I mentioned it to my tech but he didn't bite. I said I'd like it done but not sure how so he said there is a lot of stuff in there but that boogie listens to their customers and might offer it. I would have asked outright but didn't want to void my warranty.

LOLLERS. I don't blame your tech one bit, ha ha!! What a nightmare just getting access to the pcb! If it's anything like the IV anyways, prolly worse. I have discovered three different values of the cap out there in internet land: 10u (II, IIb), .1u (IV), and .047u (IIC+,III). Could be right, could be wrong, gotta open up one and see. I am now very curious about this. (What? Me gas for a V? Never! ) I really want to hear a V for myself now.

according to the mark v schem and on the actual part, looks like it's .22u.

@ schematic heaven, it looks like .047u

If anyone is interested, I'm considering offering modifications to the Mark V to change the "non-EQ" IIC+ values back to the "EQ" values.

I realize this is my first post (I've been lurking here for years), but I definitely have the experience and capability to properly modify these two values back to the EQ. I've traced through the schematic and identified what values are being switched in the IIC+ mode, as Doug West described and identified. I then compared and verified that information with the multitude of IIC+ schematics I've accumulated over the years.

I'm a graduate student and a father, so my time is limited. If you're interested, I can show you pictures of the amplifiers and pedals I've built from scratch to establish my credibility.

I plan on doing this modification to my own MkV to assess it's outcome, and I can post the results if there is interest. If there's no interest, no harm, no foul.

my tech said he'd do it and talked to mesa to find out. I decided not to do it because i got a mark iv instead. if anyone wants my mkv I could have it done for them.
