It is a factory IIA with some mod in the back of the chassis and a IIC or II+ faceplate.
Whether it means that has been factory upgraded, I don't know.

I sent the seller an email for more information. "Works like new" looks like a couple of GEQ sliders are missing! If it's a super rare llA > C+ mod, it may be worth looking at.

Where is the mod?

It seems there is a plugged connected to a jack at the back of the chassis just under the 8 ohm jack.

That's just the cover held on by one screw and twisted down ward exposing the solder joints on the plug.

I have a shot of the under side, someone wiped it clean of any markings. I wish I could say, "that's a first." https://www.flickr.com/photos/100168049@N04/15252022075/ I told him I'd drive over with the cash if I could get a gut shot and liked what I saw. I told him to gently remove the tubes, lower the chassis and send pictures. edit - Actually looking back at the photo it looks like it's out already.

Hahaha! The picture was too small for my age.

I got a better picture, it's an llA ser. no. 65xx. I'm trying for gut shots.
If serial number is 65xx, then it is a II-B. Strange, because the back of the chassis shows a II-A layout (pre amp out/power amp).
