Anyone know why this amp would have come with the early front panel logo? Usually the MKIV's just say Boogie not "Mesa Boogie"

This was probably the badge the builder randomly grabbed off the shelf. Or maybe they were out of the other one that day. Or maybe the original buyer wanted that one. Maybe the original buyer had a speaker cab with the old badge and he wanted the head to match. Or the dealer requested it. There's really no great significance. Mark IVs during the entire run can easily be found with either logo.

The wide heads had different signage... short heads had Boogie and the long heads had Mesa/Boogie. Back in the 80's they did the same thing. The other guitar player in my band had a III Coliseum and I had a short III head. Mine said Boogie, his said Mesa/Boogie.
