Sadly a few months ago I did what I said I would never do and sold my Mark V to pay off some debt. :( I really, really miss it... I've been playing a lot of amps both Mesa and non-Mesa and nothing sits with me like the V, it's the only amp that I've ever sold and regretted letting it go. I don't think I realized how awesome of an amp it is until I started trying out others.

But I think I'm going to eventually invest in another, I may try out a few order Mark series first to make sure I'm not missing anything because others swear by the 3rd channel of the IV. So if you have one, don't make the same mistake I did and hang on to it, OR sell it too me super cheap!

DWAKO.....sorry that you sold it, but am glad you recognize some of the MkV strengths after trying many other amps (Mesa and others)! It would be great to have you back as a MkV owner, and hope that happens soon!

FWIW....I will not be selling my MkV EVER! It really works better for my needs than any other amp that I have ever owned...and I do own many other very good amps!

All that said, you should try the earlier Mark Series amps if possible. The older Marks definitely have their own sounds which some consider superior to the V and that is fine.
Personally, I still own my MkIV amp (purchased new) from the mid 90's, and while it can be set to sound great (especially Ch3).....I haven't played it much at all in the last few years because overall, I much prefer my MkV.

Best of luck whatever you decide!

I miss mine too.... Thought it was time for a change after 15 years of boogie use.. Went to EVH gear.. Love it, but miss my marks!
