I like young Petrucci sound. What about getting a triaxis?

As the title said I really dig young Petrucci tone, especially in I&W live in Tokyo, Rock Discipline and LTE1. I'm having a Mark IV right now and I can get Petrucci's current tone. Frankly I don't like it as much as Petrucci's old tone. Would a Triaxis rig get my desired sounds? I'm considering selling my Mark IV to get a Triaxis/2:90. So advices please?

Well, I suppose it would get you tones very similar to those used on those recordings. A TriAxis + 2:90 was actually what he used on ALL of those recordings you mentioned.

Triaxis or Studio or Quad preamp should all do it.
