He bought it RIGHT after I went out for a movie.
...the movie wasn't even that ******* good

Anyway, no big deal. I have a triaxis!!! WOOHOO!!

Now... power amp... i need to decide between a 2:90 or a 20/20. It'll probably be a 2:90 eventually but it might be nicer to just have a small one at first.

And CAAAAAAAAB. OH MY GOD. I can't ******* make up my mind between a 1x12 Thiele with EVM12L and a 2x12 Recto. Would anyone care to describe the differences in sound between them?

Congrats on the TRIAXIS. I own the TRIAXIS/2:90 and let me tell you. If you want to experience what the TRIAXIS is capible of get the POWER AMP Mesa intended the TRIAXIS to be paired with the 2:90!!! Once you experience the DEEP, MODERN and Half DRIVE MODES and all the combinations of those modes you will be in TONE HEAVEN. Don't spend any money on any other power amp than the 2:90. I paired my TRIAXIS first with a SIMUL Class 295 then I tried a 2:50 and YES those amps worked fine and sounded great but there is NO NO NO comparison to the flexability and choices in tone you get from the MIGHTY 2:90. Sorry for the long post I am just passionate toward the 2:90. Let us know what you decide.

Sorry about the double post I must have quoted myself instead of editing. In the second post I added some info (my opinion) on Cab choices.

Sorry for the long post I am just passionate toward the 2:90. As for cab choice. I have two 1X12 Theile 200W EVs and they have the TIGHTEST LOWEND PUNCH I have ever heard. I think those cabs are getting rare and hard to find. The TRIAXIS/ 2:90 will sound great through RECTO cabs as well. If stereo is importaint to you than either suck it up and get a recto 4X12 with split stereo capibility or track down a pair of the 1X12 THEILEs with the 200W EVs. Although I can't comment on the other Theiles out there because I never tried them with my TRIAXIS/2:90 I would be willing to guess that they sound great also. As always if you have an opportunity to try different cabs out first before purchasing by all means do it. Let us know what you decide.

lol!! Too funny yes....guilty on both accounts. I was looking for a Triaxis with the Mod...and to my luck it was right there.

Great price for us both....

The 290 has "a" sound. And the 50/50 has a sound. And the 20/20 has a different sound.

Interesting to me is that there are other preamps that work better with the 290 than the triaxis does. One such is the CAE 3+ preamp. I also found that the MArshall JMP-1 sounds not bad at all through the 290 as the 290 widens out the sound of the marshall by giving it a better bottom

But because the 290 has so much bottom, I found it made my triaxis muddy and it made lead 2 green mode useless to me. I now use the triaxis through a VHT 2502 as I find El34's enhance the triaxis tone and 6l6's take the already abundant low end and make it close to unmanageable .

I also have a 50/50 power amp. IT is snappier sounding than the 290 and a bit more transparent. Even better with the triaxis is the simul 295 power amp.

As for the 20/20 , it happens to pair extremely well with the triaxis. As I said, I believe the triaxis has gobs of low end. More than you can possibly use in a real musical setting. The 20/20 will have less low end but make your triaxis sound "tighter". So think of it this way :

20/20 = more chug
2-90 = more boom
50/50 = somewhere in between
