so, i'm about to retube my triaxis, 2:90 and peavey valveking 2x12. so i'll soon have quite a few tubes that are perfectly functional i want to store for emergency situations. do they make a tube holder? or would it be easy enough to maybe just drill a bunch of holes in a block of wood to hold them?

any creative and cheap ideas would be greatly appreciated. but a link to a manufactured product would be cool too. thanks.

You can reuse the tube boxes from your new tubes; cross out irrelevant info, and write in the correct information. Put 'em in a small cardboard box, and that'll do for a cheap solution.

You can also purchase new, blank white tube boxes - many tube sellers also sell them, or try eBay. They look better than re-used boxes, and avoid the potential confusion. I store my tubes in a locking (keeps the young kids out) tool cabinet that I got from Sears. It is a more expensive method, but not too awfully much if you've got a lot of tubes. I find the new cabinet to be a real treat - it is easy to find what I want. I also use one of the other drawers for unused effects pedals, slides, Ebow, picks, etc.

I bought a little $7.00 tool box from Home Depot, used some spray adhesive to install left-over foam from a room treatment and SHAZAM! tube box. Left the tubes in there old boxes to avoid confusion. My friend did the same but used some styrafoam from his fridgerator and made little holes for his tubes to ride in. I didn't go that far, but I looks cool.

i have 12 spare PAIRS of power tubes I know what you mean..i am still trying to work out a good tube holder that doesn't take up huge amounts of room..

How about in my garage where the temperature goes down to freezing? Is that going to hurt my extra tubes?

Those cases look nice and all but I have seen tube shipments come into stores.....packed in boxes with those foam peanut t hings. The tubes are fine.

Those fancy cases are snake oil.

actually those cases are pretty much what i've been looking for, except that i dont need it to be rugged, theyre just gonna be stored in my house, not hauled around the globe. i'm looking for organization not protection.

so those cases have the storage space that i need, but i dont want to pay that much money for what i'm essentially just going to use as a box.

but it did give me an idea of filling a box with identical foam pads that i can use in a modular fashion like that. now i just need to figure out where to get the foam.
