Hey gang -

I want to blend the overall sound of my MarkIV and Dual Recto for my dirty sound (each will have it's own 4X12, so I'm not worried about running them into a stereo cab or anything)

I'm wondering how to split my line signal safely?? (and not lose too much signal).

FWIW: My rig will now be:

MarkIV + Dual Recto = Dirty
Dual = Clean

Panning between the two with an Ernie Ball Stereo Pan Pedal.

Yeah - no AB box for me. It's not one or the other. I want to run the MarkIV AND the Dual Recto at the same time.

I need something that will safely split my signal. The Voodoo Labs stuff looks pretty cool!

I'm wondering if there are other ways also????

For god's sake you want to run them both at the same time ,just make a cable with two plugs in the end.
side mono(guitar) to stereo(amps)

In other words, just SPLIT the end of your guitar's cable into 2 plugs.

I understand that's a possible route to take, but you will lose a lot of impedance in the signal.

Not really.
When I play a gig with 2 amps in stereo
I use that cable. No problems at all.

Cool man! Thank you.

I like to keep it neat - I like the looks of the Sound Sculpture - being rack-mounted.

I've seen JP's rig - and it looks like his Axess stuff is kinda "tucked" away in the back of his racks. Cool though.

The HBE Bytchyn Switchyn A/B/C allows you to run both A or B with C simultaneously with A and B being bufferred and isolated from C so that you lose none of the signal and dynamics and is a heck of alot cheaper than the Axess stuff.

That sounds cool!

Soundsculpture products are the best you can buy. There's also Skrydstrup, that Petrucci used :

I like the Skrydstrup stuff from what I've seen online. I need to find some rigs that have this application, and check it out.

I didn't think it was going to be that hard to run this rig, I used to run 3 amps at the same time all the time (but it was a Marshall / Orange rig, and it was easy to chain the multiple inputs of the Marshall over to the Orange)

It's easy to do in theory but you should really be careful about isolating each input so you don't run into interference problems and ground loops.

I believe the switchblade will split your signal as well as digitally mix it too.

A better resource for help would be hugeracksinc.com

You should try Switchbone JX2 by Radial. Alan Holdsworth uses it, it is the best A/B/C box, made for running 2 amps at once. Plus plenty of extras for mid or gain boosts if needed. I run a Triaxis and BK BUTLER TUBE DRIVER(Eric Johnson, David Gilmore) at once, no noise, sounds like you plugged right into both. It is the smaller, affordable version of the 7 different amp version the Radial JD7, simply amazing.

yeah sombra, you're a ******* retard, you' couldn't tell the differnece between a mark IIC+ and a toaster. You need a ABY box, something to buffer the guitar signal ....
