How much straight from the factory?

Hey guys, I'm going to be ordering a Mark V within the next few weeks and was curious about prices before I call in.

Is the price still 1999.00 USD directly from the factory? Does that include or not include shipping?

Has anyone thought about ordering from a third party, such as Sweetwater? If you order from them is there still an 8-10 week wait? Do you gain or loose anything?

I believe they are still $1999.00 for the heads. The price does not include shipping from Mesa Hollywood, I believe they charged me on the order of $60.00 shipping for the head. You will not have to pay sales tax if you order from Mesa Hollywood, unless you live in California! When I got mine from MH, I received it much sooner than some people who ordered it through a third party vendor. They also ordered theirs much sooner than me. Not sure if that will happen for you, or not. I suspect not since demand is very high right now. I would suggest going direct irregardless, they were great throughout the entire process.

Well the new price list came out 2/1/10 so we should be good for another year .

Sometimes a new price list comes out in August too, so there is always a chance of it going up 50 bucks or so then.
I custom ordered a head and cab from guitar center and they quoted me 8-10 weeks for the colors i wanted (it was less for the standard black) but they are also charging me the 60 bucks shipping.. which is odd since its going to a store in my state then im picking it up. not like its being shipped to my door.

Ive never heard of a mesa dealer charging you shipping , that doesnt sound right to me . I can understand an up charge for different color but not for shipping without actually shipping it to you . I would question that . I've bought lots of mesa gear from local dealers and was never charged shipping .

If its a Guitar Center you are picking it up at there is no way I would pay any shipping since it is a pickup. You will have to pay taxes and that should be enough. I would cancel the order and order direct, then I would have it come direct to me, pay the shipping to avoid the tax.

Dude, you need to go back and read the thread . The guy said he was going to the store to pick it up not having it shipped to him . Thats why he was asking why they were charging him shipping . they are trying to put the screws to him .

has anyone else custom ordered mesa gear from guitar center? i did ask about it and they sait its something mesa adds on cause its a bunch of heavy stuff they r shipping... i figured its a case of extra charges that are being passed on to the customer, odd though not uncommon. i ordered from GC because i can get everyone to give gift cards to me from there easier than say mesa hollywood or a local store... and cash is a hard gift to keep
