How much do Quad Preamps go for?

Silly question. This guy is thinking of selling me his quad pre amp, but hes asking for a reasonable price to let it go. It has a broken switch and no foot controller, he says it works fine. I think the serial # is something like Q2030. I'm thinking of asking him about $400 for it, but with the switch and the foot controller problem......I'm thinking less :? I can't go see it, quite a drive, but he sent me pictures. If its worth my trouble I'll buy it.

I looked on Ebay and they go any where from $300-$900. What do you guys think? How much do you think its worth?

Any help would be great!

Unless your really GAS'n for one,I'd wait to find one alittle more mint and with a footswitch. I dont see many footswitches only for sale for the quad so you might be in for a ball buster trying to find one.

I have seen them around the $500 mark,and thats one intact. Seeems the midi loaded ones fetch a higher price but I heard that this option isnt really worthy the higher price.
