I'm moving from Hawaii to Washington D.C. and unfortunately I cannot bring my Line 6 4x12 with V30's in it. It's not an amazing cab, but it's not bad either. It gets the job done. Anyway after the move I have concluded that I most likely want a 2x12 for $$$ savings vs. a 412 and the transportation factor. I was thinking about getting a MillsAcoustic Mach 212B after hearing such good things about them from everywhere.
My question for 212 Mark V owners is, how do you like it compared to a 412? A 412 in general has more bass response and stage monitoring power. I play a wide range of styles including blues/funk/alternative/rock/metal and I'm wondering what 212 do you have and can it handle Metal and provide a great oomph to it? Mills cabs are supposed to be VERY well made and the 212 is supposed to sound as huge as some 4x12's and I'm hoping thats true. Would love to hear some feedback from 212 users.

Does it still have some oomph to it when playing high gain stuff and palm muted? I'd really like to hear how it holds up to a 4x12.

I recently did a session with my Mark V thru MILLS 2x12 cab and a Bogner Ecstasy thru Mesa 4x12 - been meaning to post pic - and the 2x12 had no problem keeping up. It was an awesome combination, to say the least. I play mostly had rock and love the MILLS cab.

In my opinion nothing does what a 4X12 does except a 4X12 ! They are magical . Having said that my 2X12 recto horizontal cab is big sounding as well . You wouldnt go wrong with it . Its one of Mesa's older design cabs . Its been around for quite a long time . There must be a reason for that ?!

It's a good sounding cab that does a good job of sounding big for a 2x12.

I have no experience with the Mills cabs.

Thanks. I emailed the guy at Mills and he gave me some info. I've decided on getting a mills 2x12 after the move. It'll save me some $$ so I can get some new Bareknuckle pickups and change my guitar around and it saves my back! I'm really excited, can't wait.

It's the first time I set the cab on its side - like vertical Boogie 2x12 - and I really liked it, so that's how it's staying for the time being. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room with the whole setup and screw around with the two, but they sound great together. With a little bit of tweaking, I'm confident I could've got the Mark V to sound damn close to the Bogner. These are two awesome amps!!! Plenty of oomph in the MILLS, too. BTW - my MILLS cab has a V30 and a G12T-75...sweet combo!

I have no experience with the Mills cab either, but I tested my Mark V on a closed back Mesa 2x12 and it sounded awesome. I use a 2x12 3/4 open back and a 1x12 3/4 open back at home and it sounds great on each of those also.
