Hey guys!
I've been reading this forum for few months now, but last week I bought my first Mesa, so I decided to finally join. It was hard to choose, but after playing on tons of amps I decided to purchase Roadster. Some time ago i realized, that every band I like uses mesa, so what was I supposed to do? Anyway, Roadster wins when it comes to functionality + it has amazing clean tones (Ch1 + mode tweet - ahhh...) and that's the reason why I didn't buy DR.
Yesterday I brought it to my band rehearsal and I was trying to achieve the sound, which I have in my head. I'm still learning this amp, so it'll probably take a while. Unfortunately the Roadster doesn't play nice with my carvin legacy 2x12. There are two v30, but this cab makes every amp sound...hmm..odd. Can't find a word in English for this. The sound has a lot's of mids and it's, hm, whacked? Nevermind, I just don't like it much :)

Btw there's my question to you guys - which cab (2x12) would you recommend?
And - onto the pic!

Welcome. 2X2" Recto or 2X12" roadking cabs are the answer to your problem!

Well, can't make up my mind between these two, but finally I'll probably end up with rectifier anyway :)

Yes, it's my firs mesa, but not my first tube amp. I've been playing JCM800 for a long time. To be honest I've had it since I started playing guitar, cause my uncle bought it back in early 90's. I was so accustomed to the Marshall sound that at first I dialed up my Mesa in very similar way. As I said - I'm Mesa Boogie begginer, so don't know how to operate with this thing yet. Every suggestion will be much appreciated!

Man, JCM800s are nice amps.

Dialing in the Roadster: For channels 3 and 4, dial in by starting with all knobs at 12:00 except the presence. Presence can be at like 8:00 for start. Lots of good tones can be had here.
Just tweak from there as necessary.

Cabs: I second the Recto 2 x 12 or Road King 2 x 12. The Road King 2 x 12 is more even / balanced sounding while the Recto 2 x 12 is brighter.

At some point Marshall covered all my sound needs, but after playing Mesa for few hours and then plug in to Marshall again you can hear the difference. Plus 4 channels in Mesa, tuner out, wattage reduction, etc etc - these are the things I've always wanted in my amp.

I recommend you a nice Mesa 2X12 cab, you recommend me to some good looking Polish women. Deal??? :p
