Hey, I was thinking of getting myself a "rig" here but I am in a little doubt. Im gonna buy a MKIV head if I can get ahold of one, and I already have a Gmajor effect processor. So Im gonna get a midi pedalboard so I can switch channels on the amp and change presets on the Gmajor at the same time..

So what I had planned was to get the Voodoo Lab Ground Control Pro and Axess CFX4 Control Function Switcher. So my question really is; would this work for this purpose? My guitar teacher said there was alot of things that had to be right but he wasnt completely sure..

Thanks : )

That should work fine. I don't know if the Mark IV needs a custom cable from the CFX4 but if it does Mario will have it.

Alright thanks mate :) What kind of custom cable would we be talking about anyways?

It’s a custom cable that you would order along with the CFX4 from Mario (Axcess). I recommend it. But if you ordered just the CFX4 it can still work but you would have to use four cables (guitar cables) between the CFX4 and the Mark IV (using the external switching jacks). The custom cable on the other hand goes from one connection from the CFX4 the Mark IV foot switch connection.

I use a CFX4 and a GRX4 and recommend the Axess stuff. I use an All Access (Rocktron) for a midi pedal board but the Ground Control Pro works just as well. It’s all midi. Just programming!

instead of the groundcontrol pro, take a look at the behringer FCB1010 board.
it´s cheaper, you get two expressionpedals with it and there is a EPROM availible with the "UnO" software. so you can turn the fcb1010 into a real stompbox mode with 5 stompboxes and 5 presets.

the behringer is cool for controlling the g-major. with the expression pedals, you can control your overall volume via midi or do some realtime control over your delays or what ever you want.

i used the behringer for 3 years with my g-major. no i changed to the rocktron all access, only reason was, i wanted more stompbox switches.
the berhringer is now controlling my rocktron voodu valve at home.
and there is a good freeware PC editior for the fcb1010, just google for it.
