Just like going to the store to buy kitchen essentials for your first apartment, there are certain "must have" spices to put on your shelf. The RFT, along with a modern Tung Sol and black/gray plate RCA, are essential. They represent a broad spectrum of tone and help you shape things the way you like. RFT = dark+gain, RCA = medium -gain, Tung Sol = bright+gain...IMO. I like the RCA and Tung Sol in V1 for articulation and RFT in V3.
I'm certainly no expert, so if someone has input on tonal variance of these tubes to share, it would be a help to everyone.
