Hello

Just bought a US dual rectifier with a 500 watt step down transformer

My question is this sufficient to run the dual rec without any probs

i have done some research and this amount seems to be ok although i will be giging the dual rec and want to be sure first

A 500W would be the minimum to use. I would feel safer with a 1000W if you are playing at gig/band volumes regularly.

In theory, the amp will draw 480W before the fuse would blow (4A X 120V). In the real world the amp is capable of much higher surges, especially in Modern Mode with high bass settings.

At the very least you should have a 33% safety margin. A 600 watt unit would work safely but the 1000 watt unit would be ideal. Always double the rating (volts/amps/watts) if you need complete reliability.
