i don't know, i just figured more folks who have issues with recording cranked guitar sounds, without the sheer volume, would have had some interest in this..
i know from experience, nothing beats moving air!
but sometimes, you just can't pull it off....
for whatever reason.
i've heard a lot of recordings here, where the amp sounds like it's on idle...
and i know, with my old boogie, if i don't crank it at least to the eviction volume, it just ain't working....
i like the idea of the weber taking up enough of the output juice, to let the amp really breath thru the transformer....
even a subtle attenuation with the master just slightly louder than room volume, seems to feel better than room volume and the master way down...
funny, on this recording, i used the crunchiest setting i could get out of the boogie and the Palmer....
to see how in the face i could get it.
i thought it did it pretty well.
but, for what i really like for a 'signature tone', it's now much easier to get 'smooth and rich', using the standard settings and my typical 'at volume' settings on the boogie....with the weber and palmer...
than i could ever get without them.
so i need to do some recordings of THAT setup, and post, to see if maybe THAT tone gets more people interested......
or not.
