I have a Triple Rec with the diamond plated head shell, but would love to switch it for a black grill cloth, like on the Road King. Does anyone know if this is possible, and who I can contact for this?

Mesa will do it for you.

Hard to say what the price would be if it were not a standard headshell (Yes the triple rec is standard, but maybe not with the roadking grill)

Well, been trying to get ahold of someone since Monday, but after the receptionist transfers me, I just voice mail every time, and they have not called me back once.

Are you calling Mesa Engineering in Petaluma?
I always leave a voice mail and I wanted to say that I have been called back every time. Even when I have asked something lame that I wished I hadn't (some ignorant question) I always get called back. Be SURE to leave a message! They'll call you back :)

They haven't called back once since I started calling on Monday morning. I have left a voice mail every time.

That is something I am sad to hear. I've called enough to be remembered when they call back, the guys are very kind in parts and service dept. I hope you will not get too upset with them, (there must be a good reason). Fridays are usually the only day that is is iffy to get a call back because they like to race, but I have received calls on Fridays as well. I've got about twenty pink invoices here, they represent a lot of calls. I was sincere about them calling you back. I'm sorry man I don't know what to say.

No, I am not upset at all. Its just a basic question about headshells, nothing major to worry about. I understand that they may be busy too. I will get my turn!

I talked to Mike B. three times today. Rich is supposed to call me Monday (or Tuesday). IF you send me exactly what you want in a PM, I will ask him for you and get back to you. I'll give him a little razzing too

WOW,

They have called me back every time. Once they called me back the next day, every other time the same day.

I am stunned to say the least.

They even called me back when I left them a question about buying the Mesa cabinet corner pieces.

I'm sure they have their reasons. I called on Wed and got transferred straight to a rep. I know this seems obvious, but don't speak too fast, say your name and contact info up front, then give your number at the end - repeat it slowly to give them time to write it down - and then briefly summarize your voicemail before you hang up. For example...

"This is John Doe. You can reach me at 5-5-5 (pause), 5-5-5 (pause), 5-5-5-5. The number again is 5-5-5 (pause), 5-5-5 (pause), 5-5-5-5.

Today is Feb 27, around 10:30 AM EST. I'm calling in regards to a blah, blah, blah. My question is blah, blah, blah. You can reach me at 5-5-5 (pause), 5-5-5 (pause), 5-5-5-5. The number again is 5-5-5 (pause), 5-5-5 (pause), 5-5-5-5. Again, this is John Doe calling in regards to an issue with Problem X."

I'm not saying you don't already do that, just a general pointer for anyone calling a place like that. when I get calls from people talking fast and say their number in a blur, I simply delete it sometimes. If I have to hit "replay" on your message 3-4 times and I still haven't gotten your number written down because you're saying it too fast, you're getting deleted. And that's not good when you're calling me about a job... :p The reason you put your number up front too is because if you have a 2 minute voicemail and I have to hit repeat to get your contact info, I want it up front too so I don't have to hear your 2 minute voicemail again to get to your number.
