Head, because I need it in 2 4x12's for my metal shows and to A/B with a Roadster.

Head... I can never get a combo to sound as good as a head/cab. Plus, you can throw a head onto a lot of different cabs. It is lighter to componentize the pieces as well.

combo 'cause i wanted a combo. i can deal with the weight, I have a thiele, and still might get the ported widebody cab.

i'm sure i'll buy a headshell or another V. for an extra $100 I can sell the combo shell and buy a headshell for not too much.

Combo cause it can be used as a head but it comes with its own 112 for practice

Ditto.

I don't work out or anything like that - but I don't have a problem with 80lbs up and down a few flights of stairs.
Come to think of it, my custom KK Audio 2x12 slant cab is loaded with EVM12-Ls - it probably weighs a lot more than a Mark V combo.

Geez guys, I don't even play metal. ;)

+1

Also, it's only lika a $100 extra for the combo-great value compared to just the head.

Vote me in for the Combo for the aforementioned reasons...plus for the music and venues I play in the combo fits in better in the mix.... Stage space is usually at a premium. Then when I need more....I can hang my 4x12 off if it and put the combo on a stand and manage it as a head.

And the head while lighter in itself is not easier to carry around when you consider the # of trips plus most mesa cabs (2x12 or greater) weigh in as much as the combos.
