Has anyone ever done this?

I have a DBX Compressor/Gate i use to add a little compression and stop the feedback. Its weird, when running it in the effects loop the gate cut the hiss but it still had feedback. When in front, it cut the feedback but left the hiss. Then i got a clever idea to run channel one of the gate in front and channel two in the effects loop and blend the channels together, and it worked great! Has anyone ever ran it like that?

Have you ever heard of the ISP Technologies Decimator Prorack G? It works the same way and does the same thing only better.

yeah but it dont matter now, my dbx is up for sale along with my rack. Im gettin some money to buy a headshell from gts. I found that the gate adds noise! my amp is silent by itself
