Are the handles on your 4x12 recto cab recessed or not? Just curious. I picked up a traditional 4x12 and the handles are not recessed. Checked the web and see that there are a few pics out there with no recessed handles. When did Mesa start recessing the handle. I'm talking about a shallow route that the handle sits in. My handles are the normal kind but the handle itself is not recessed into the side. I'll post a pic later.

my handles are flush, with a recessed cavity. it's an older halfback 4x12, but i think the recto handles are similar

My handles are like that too but the difference I was referring to is that on some cabs, the whole handle itself, actually sits inside a shallow 1/8" recess. Mine has no recess and just sits on the surface of the cab. Same for the jack plate. I'm know I'm not making it clear. I'll post a pic later. It's a minor thing but I notice it seems to vary on their cabs even now.

Here's what I mean. On my cab, the handle is not recessed into the side of the cab. It sits on top of it. I have to find a pic on the web of the recess I'm talking about. Some Mesa cabs are done this way and some the other way.

That's how both of my Recto 4X12's look, one is from 2001, the other 2004, although I have never removed the handles to look for the recess, and don't really have a desire to.

Is this what you are referring to?

Dom, you nailed it. Great pic. What's odd is alot of dealers still show pics of the older method and I believe some still leave the factory this way. I'm going to call MB just to confirm it. Just for curiosity's sake.
