Hey all, thanks for everyones input to my question although I had no intentions of starting a war
I have been using rack mounted equpiment for years with little or no hum issues. It was only when I incorporated combo's with a pre-amp, a switcher and some rack devices that the trouble started and I basically had to strip everything down and go through them one at a time untill I came across the noise.
Why using two comb's as opposed to a pre/stereo power set up is noisier makes no sense to me and I am still not sure how I managed to end up killing most of the noise.
I think my next step is to invest in a decent power conditioner to lower the noise a little bit more. I put a HumX on one of the combo's and that did help quite a bit but more needs to be done, I have trimmed down all my interconnects to the exact length along with my power cords, used hum free's etc so not really much more I cann do for now.
Any suggestions on a power conditioner, I don't want to spend more than $300
