I have a gminor that I got for free w/ my GCP. I currently use only my GCP in 10 preset mode, but would love to use my G minor in conjunction with it for Tap Tempo and CCs. (Like to turn the TA FX loop on and off).

How would i go about hooking this up? I can't have two devices go into the TA's midi input. Would I go from the Gminor midi out to the GCP midi in? How would I do this?

Actually, the only two CC's I need are FX loop on / off and tap tempo. Would it be possible to plug in a footswitch to the pedal spot on my GCP and control it that way? And ditch the g minor?

you could use an expressionpedal pluged into the GCP for the loop on/off function. not shure if a normal footswitch would work as well via the expressionport on the GCP, give it a try.

for the taptempo, use a simple footswitch and connect it to the "external in" of the g-major. maybe you´ll have to tell the g-major wich function the footswitch should activate. this can be done in the "mod" menu.

goes the gmajor have an overall mix level control. it would be cool to have an exp pedal that turned on the FX loop at like CC10 (so when its all the way off, the TA is going straight to the 2:90 and the gmajor isnt changing the dynamics at all), then when you press it a little bit, it turns the FX loop on. Then from CC10 to 127 or whatever it would control the mix level. Is this possible? Hehe. I'm such a midi noob. I love it.

no, that´s not possible. even if the g-major bypass button is pressed, the signal goes thru. you habe the AD/DA changing thing all the time.
what you wanna do is like a mixer, to blend in the g-major. you would habe to use a loopsystem like the switchblade 8B from soundsculpture to do this.

but the g-major is normaly not made for parallel setups. it´s recomended with seriel setup and you get the best effects out of it, if you controll the mixing between the dry and wet signal via the g-major.

in my setup, the g-major is most important unite. it splitts my signal to stereo and is allways running some effects.
never head a problem.

there is no AD / DA process when the FX loop is off. My TA goes straight to my 2:90. The gmajor is in the FX loop (which is series)

When I'm playing some chunky rhythm parts, i have no FX, so I keep the G major out of the picture, but for wet yummy leads, I turn on the FX loop.

i don´t know if the TA reacts to CC.
if so, you could use an expressionpedal to switch in / out the loop, but you´ll not be able to fade in the loop as you want it. there will only be IN an OUT i think.

but you should be also able to program the loop status into the presets, so you wouldn´t need an extra pedal or switch to turn on an off the loop.
as said before, i really don´t know how the TA works.
