Well awhile back I had one of the first 3 channel dual rectos ever made but for some reason just never bonded with it. It was a tempermental amp that sounded different every other day. But now Im convinced it was user error and I was simpy not using the amp correctly. Well after countless amps and lower cost alternatives and even some other expensive amps I have finally admitted to myself and everyone else that Im a mesa guy. Every blind comparison video I look at thinking I will like the non mesa amp has proved that Im a mesa guy. So hello everyone. Any advice for when the Mark V arrives?

There is a wealth of advice to be had in previous posts in this forum. I would recommend scanning through them as you have time to address anything that comes up. I would also recommend having patience with this amp. It is a great amp with a world of tonal opportunities within. Take the time to explore it thoroughly and trust your ears to take you there. To me, my Mark V sounds better now than it did when I first got it, partly because the amp and cab have had time to break in and partly because I have had time to grow with it. After a while you reach a point where you really appreciate what the Mark V can do. Part of the fun is trying settings that others have tried, and there is a good thread for that on this board. If you have a favorite artist who currently uses the Mark V, try their settings and tweek from there. It's a great musical journey. Welcome to the group!

As silly as it may sound, read that manual several times through. The manual can give you good places to start your tonechasing.

And I second what DrummerChas said. I've spent hours perusing this forum. Some good information to be had!

Yeah, I think things are gonna be ok with this amp. As where some people claim that it took them forever to find a tone they liked with their mark V, I sat down on one and had a hard time dialing in a tone I "didnt" like. So different strokes for different folks. Im just glad I fit in the crowd where the amp can do no wrong. It will make me using it much more easy. My main amp right now is a Carvin V3M. That amp I feel as if I have to choke the sound I want out of it and Its always just "off". With the mesa I feel it will consistently give me what I want it to.

This is the best advice for any new mesa amp owner, the manual is your "bible". Plus, use your ears (relative to known knob settings) instead of your eyes when dialing in the V.

Enjoy the V, it's a great amp!
