Why is it soo hard to get five people together that are headed in the same direction? I recently left the band I was in for that reason. The singer dont care what kind of music is playing as long as he can sing over something, the other guitar player is stuck in the 80's(jigga jigga jigga jigga) the bass player is a combination of cheech and chong so he forgets what song is what. been through 4 drummers. WTF? Nobody could agree on anything so I left. Soon after they landed this killer outdoor gig,3 day event with camping a nice big stage. So i went back, the show went well. Now everything is back the way it was and I hate it, Id rather be at home sittin on the tv watchin the couch instead of going to "pratice" 2 nights a week for 3hrs. Im not perfect by no means but this is driving me crazy. It kinda sucks when I rush home from "pratice" so i can jump on the net to check the classifieds. Sorry for the rant. Anybody been through this?

Getting five people together who are all on the same page is really tough. Sounds like a typical band thing though. People who don't want to practice, somebody can't play their instrument that well, somebody is smoking too much dope, a singer who can't sing etc..

You should probably stick it out while you look for something new. Being in a crappy band is better than no band although I guess that's debatable.

You might want to get set up for recording at home if you aren't already. This way you can work on your own stuff outside of your band and you will have complete creative control. It's pretty cheap if you already have a decent computer and it's what keeps me sane these days.

haha i just got that

Id rather be at home sittin on the tv watchin the couch

thats so funny.

and yes i have had that problem, its not an easy task finding 5 people who are into the same thing with the same passion as someone else

Stop and think of it this way, the divorce rate in this country is over 50% and that only involves two people. Trying to get five people to agree on anything is damn near impossible.
