Under the Big Sky...
OK, I give. Been playing that ED 112 combo all week, brought in the guitars, brought in the board. Love it. Absolutley love it.
I really wasn't expecting this amp to be this cool, but it is a great amp.
I think I am ready to try to move into the ED- but first I need to move out of my beloved Stiletto (cant afford 2 Mesas right now....want to, but *cant*)....
Anyone need a Stiletto?

I know what you mean.

A few weeks back this amp wasn't even on my radar. Now it's sitting in my house.

I was blown away when I plugged into it. It is amazing to me that one of the simplest Mesa's out could be so unbelievably versatile.

I'm in the exact same boat. I've had my stiletto 2 on ebay since last Sunday. I may have it listed too high though with the economy the way it is. I just hate to take such a beating on such a great amp. It has 20 watchers and a couple of bone-head offers but it seems people just won't pull the trigger. Luckily i'm not so strapped for cash right now that I would let it go for nothing, but that could change in an instant. So right now I'm gonna kick back, fix a drink, and piss off my neighbors with my allmighty Electra-Dyne. They should draw and quarter the guy who named this amp though. Sure doesn't roll off your tongue like Mark 1 or Recto or Stiletto or Heartbreaker or lonestar etc, etc, etc.

I remember having my Roadster listed on the bay, and I would get offers like "Ill give you $1000., but you have to throw in the cab and pay shipping"....I would write back- "listen, I dont think you are ready for a big-boy amp like this yet...sit back and let the adults do business..."

I hear you- I dont want to get hosed on this Stiletto-I do love it- but the Dyne has such a smooth, open , thick voice...honestly, I put this up against the Mark V 112 combo, and it made it sound weak and thin. I definately want the 112 combo, because I do not want to try to reproduce the sound with a speaker cab.
And I think they "stole" this name from Syd and Marty Kroft (see this thread... http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=39468 )

I wonder if that is where they got the name for the amp. What I find funny is not only did someone come up with such a god awful name. A bunch of other guys had to say, "yea, that sounds like cool name".

2 Reasons I got the combo instead of the head.

1. The combo sounded unbelievable! I knew I loved it. I hadn't tested it with a cab.
2. They had the combo in stock. I was scared I would be waiting months for the head. Basically, I had no patience!

My Electra-Dyne gas was quickly resolved when I found a MINT1x12 combo at Guitar Center yesterday for $1299. Do you guys think that is a good price? It IS "used" but it actually looked to be in newer condition than the "New" one they had that was on the floor as a demo model.

Dam Formisano, our sigs look remarkably similar!

I too have been checking out the Electra-Dyne but have no had a chance to play one. I was GASin for a Stilleto real bad months ago but I ended up with some EL34s in my Roadster so that calmed me down :D

Thejay- I started with a Roadster, graduated into a Stiletto (after the EL34 Roadster tube swap), now I am eyein' me the ED.....**** these boogies are addicting....
