Actually, it's nuts, it takes more energy to get the oil out than the oil can produce. Total is seriously considering putting a frickin' nuclear reactor in northern Alberta to generate the energy necessary to exploit the tar sands. It only makes short-term business sense, from any scientific or economic point of view it's laughable.

Ya at oils price now it is laughable but when it jumps even more it might be more logical.
 
In The Netherlands I'm paying 9.30 $ per Gallon. 65% of that is tax....

Ya you guys in Europe are really paying the price. Also since you are in the Netherlands do you ride a bike a lot? I would love to ride my bike places but over here it isn't logical. Don't take this as me steriotypeing you because i am also dutch. :D
