Hey guys,
Bought a MK IIB last week - used it at a show Sat night!
I have a question. Next to the preamp output, it looks like a jack for a gain boost switch. The wire runs from the jack to the mid pot, which on the schematic is where this switch is called out.
Anyone seen one of these before? It looks like an RCA plug or something. I haven't found any good references. The amp is from Aug 1981 as you can see from the pics. 60W combo, no reverb or EQ. It's very clean, so I don't think it's been messed with.
I think if I pull the Master 1 pot a footswitch could be used to ground it out so that it becomes switchable.
The thing gets loud with the Gain Boost pulled out from what I remember, so it would be nice to be able to switch it on with a pedal.
EDIT: I hate photobucket.
