Has anyone successfully used the gain boost/Reverb foot-switching option on the Mark II B? I have a IIB short head and was wondering about people's experiences. Thanks!

Joey,
Thanks for responding. Is it safe to assume that any generic two button FS that ends in a 1/4" TRS (stereo) plug will suffice? All I really want is to be able to FS in and out the gain boost. I always leave the reverb on. Thanks!

I found these 6 pages about the MarkIIB in the Boogie Files.

Welcome, Matt!
I just found the link by googling it.

Here is another link about the MarkIIA that does not show up either in the Home page.

Thanks again! I hadn't seen that one. Ironically, I don't own a MKIIB anymore. The footswitch popping issue was the deal breaker for me. I even called Yoda (i.e. Mike Bendinelli at Mesa) and he told me that not much could be done about it. He was funny too. So I tell him, "Mike, whenever I step on the footswitch to change channels, I get loud pops. What should I do?" He says, "Well stop stepping on the footswitch!" (Badda-bing!)

I'm actually playing with the idea of tracking down a .50 cal+ or a MK-III to get the "classic" Boogie sound. Time will tell... Take care!

I agree, Matt. Mike is such a nice and funny guy and very passionate about vintage Boogies.

I have a MarkIII red stripe that I really like very much. Mike did the R2 Volume mod so you don't need to compromise on gain setting for the different channels.

Best regards
Daniel

Do you gig with the MKIII Daniel? How is it (practically speaking) in terms of channel switching, given the R2 mod? Do you have a GEQ on it? Love to hear your experiences with it. Thanks!

Matt

I am not gigging with it, Matt. Just playing with friends at home.
Yes, it has the GEQ and the channel switching is really smooth. It allows you to have the level of the 3 channels independently. At least, it works for me and it is a very economic mod.

i use a Fulltone Fatboost 3 in front of my Mark2b.

points:
no mods to the amp, works really really well, fairly inexpensive, and reversible.
