G Major 2 and Mark V Hook Up

I have a new Mark V and G Major 2 that I am trying to setup. The Mark V is playing back with real low volume and no effects coming through at all really. I connected the effects loop send -- G Major 2 Left Mono Input. The effects loop output is connected---to G Major Left Mono Output. I have the kill dry on g major 2 set to off, and both input and output level knobs on GM2 have been adjusted both ways too. The effects loop level on the MK5 is set dead in the middle. The loop is engaged on the MK 5 pedal too.

What am I missing here?

By effects loop output do you mean the loop return?
