when loop is bypassed my amp is what i love about my amp however with the loop engaged my sound if distorted and weak...I have seen many post about the FX loop problem generally due to the tube 4 on the 3 channel triple rectifier...i have changed that one with many different 12AX7s and it seems to still not be as clean as the bypassed tone...

I also notice with the fx loop engage so i can run my pedals into the signal chain the delay will still bleed thru with the fx disengaged from the foot pedal. very strange...

I just retubed the power tubes with Mesa 6L6's matched pairs 2 weeks ago...preamp tubes are about 2 years old...

Does anyone know what resistors and cap and whatever else the is associated with the tube 4 / loop to check.

Check out your cables in the effects loop. I once had bad cables and the loop was weak or did not work.

just got it back from the repair shop...turns out I had 6 bad FET J175's in the fx loop. He said this is the main thing he repairs with Mesa's...so if you are having loop distortion that may be your problem also...cost 150.00 to get fixed...I think that is a good price..

loop is still not fixed...but only noticeable on the clean channel..its very distorted and weak..dirty channels are ok
