fx loop send knob changes volume of dual rec

pretty much what the title says. even with the fx loop disengaged the send knob alters the master volume of the amp this left me extremely confused and slightly embarassed being a guitar tech luckily we have spares!!! just wondered if this was a feature (if so a pretty strange feature) or if this could possibly be a fault. cheers

It's the same with my peavey XXX head. The fx loop levels affect the master. and since i lost the foot switch i have no way to control the fx loop being on or off...so i just leave it cranked.

It's normal for a serial loop with a mix control. Even the RK II does it.

Well, it's actually a parallel loop with mix control. To balance the volumes you have to turn up the SEND control on the back of the amp.
