FX loop just started squeling and going berserk

i have been home from work today and been playing some......everything has been fine and then all of a sudden I started noticing that my effects started having a funny sounding trail to them....sort of like the reverb and delay trals sounded out of phase of something.

then i switched one of my settings that took me to channel 2 and the rig started an uncontrollable feedback that could not be stopped unless i changed the channel.

to make a long story short i have checked all of the cables and used two different effects devices for my effects and the problem has been traced to the fx loop in general.

the loop still works but something is WAYYYYYYY in the wrong here.

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Were you playing at very low volumes?

yeh pretty much but problem has been solved.....it was the V6 preamp tube.

didnt sound like a tube going out at first but alas proved to be the issue.
