Hi guys,

I just recently purchased a 2010 Mark V Combo and I love. I do have a quick question about the FX Loop and the ability to control it via the footswitch.

Correct me if I am wrong please... If I have the rotary knob on the FX loop set to FT SW I should be able to turn it off and on, correct?? It dsoen't seem to be working for me. I have delay and chorus in the FX Loop turned on, but when I turn off the FX loop from the footswitch the effects are still there. The light on the footswitch for FX does go out but the effects are still there.

Am I doing something wrong?

do you have the fx loop switched off? check the loop switch in the back and make sure it doesn't say hard bypass. if you still have issues, v6 may be screwy. double check if ch3 has gain issues.

also, check if your patch cables all have good connection (should give solid connectivity with a meter). if they don't show "short" then you might either have a broken connection or the insulation is no good.

ps read the manual:

I should of mention that I have read the manual. Extensively I might add.

The FX loop is active. With the FX loop rotary knob set to FT SW I have no effects. I should also mention that when the knob is set to FT SW, the FX light on the front of the amp is off, but on the foot switch's FX light is on. Turning the FX off and on from the footswitch does nothing. If I set the FX loop rotary knob to any other setting (Ch1, Ch2, Ch3, On All) I get my effects coming through. As well the FX light on the front is on. Do you still think there could be a problem with V6?

All my cables are good as I have tried nurmerous.

Now that you mention it channel 3 does not have much gain to it compared to channel 2.

What do you suggest? Maybe I should just bring it back to the dealer and ask for another as it's not even a week old.

If the loop is switching in and out with the knob on the amp I doubt it is a problem with the amp.

Sounds like either a bad footswitch cable or connection, or less likely a bad footswitch. See if your dealer will swap out the cable and or footswitch.

+1 if the controller indicates a state that doesn't match the panel of the amp, then the cable and/or connectors may be bad. try taking it in for a look @ just the controller/cable combination. if you also get a chance to try out v6, see how that works out. the non-functional v6 shouldn't prevent the footswitch from controlling it on/off, though.
