I have an early Mesa rackmount mark IVb in excellent condition. It was tuned up by Mike B. at Mesa/Boogie a few years ago [cap job, general maintenance, etc]. Anybody who has gone through the process of sending this beast of an amp to mesa/boogie knows that this adds significant value to the amp and is not cheap at all! The power tubes are 6L6s and have have low hours.
The reason I am selling my IVb is that it is too much amp for me right now/not my style. I only use channel one with the occasional OD pedal, and for this purpose the mark IV is total overkill. I may end up springing for a Lone Star instead or banking the sale money.
