Nice amp. It doesn't appear that the speaker is original though.

Really? I was told that it was the original EV. What was the original speaker in it?

I have a related comment on the speaker...

I have a IIC combo (not C+) that blew the original Mesa Black Shadow speaker years ago in the late 80's timeframe. I went to the local speaker reconer and he told me that it would cost as much to recone the original speaker as it would to buy this EVM 12L speaker which is one of the best guitar speakers there is. The EV cost me $125 new. The speaker I bought looks exactly like yours - has the EV stamp on the dust cap (the speaker sounds great and I still have the amp).

Therefore, I think Russ is correct. I can't recall ever seeing another one of these EVs with the white stamped EV logo in any Mesa ampor any other amp for that matter. So, although the speaker is from the same era as the amp, I don't think it's original - not that that should matter any to someone buying your amp though - to me a 200W EV is a 200W EV - same design and tone - I actually think the logo looks cool.

Which tube sock is what? I want to try some different pres before it goes.

Thanks for the info! The speaker sounds awesome and can get LOUD!!!

I would trade it for a 2 channel Triple or Dual Recto with cash on top, or a 4x12 mesa cab.

I would trade it for a Rackifier with $200 on top.
