I have a really cool and rare pedal made by Dean Markley. This is a preamp pedal using a full voltage 12ax7 tube to add an extra gain stage to the front end of your amp. I have been using it with a 12AU7 for lower gain and more bass but it sounds great with both. These were licensed through Tube-works and are clones of the BK Butler Tube driver but with "RAD" metal graphics. The pedal sounds great as an gain channel on a clean amp and also as a boost for an over driven amp. I have used it on guitar and bass and the results were always cool. Easily replace the tube for different tones and characteristics.Andy Timmons uses a similar pedal and I have been really happy with this and my Maverick but need to cut down on gear.
