Thanks For looking

geeze man, just put vinyl decals on the board... lol have a good one man
yea, it would be nice if the tech had filled those holes or s/t, i just didnt do anything about it cause i had waited like 8 months to get it installed and i was so glad it was done...

well...i ordered the kahler, i think it took a month casue it was out of stock, then i took it to a shop that kept telling me they would get to it next week, for about 4 months, then i tried georges music, they said they didnt want to make a mistake on this guitar. i took it to another repair shop, they said 2 weeks, then at the end of 2 weeks i called and the guy was like "yea i havent been doing guitar repairs lately, mostly pro audio, but i can do it when i get back from my vacation in 3 weeks. so finally i took it to the guitar exchange and they got it done with a bit less than a 2 week wait. so all that crap and between time added up to about 8 months. it sucked. south florida is horrible for this kinda stuff and guitar lessons

Must be the lattitude... I remember living in FL. It is paced much like things south of the border here. Primarily slow. The nightlife kicks butt however everything else is kind of slow. Could be the prevalent heat too. It makes people slow down some. It is a shame it took so long though. I could have walked it to you and installed it within that time period. I live about a mile from Kahler's shop in Oceanside.

i still have the prs tremonti se that i added all the good stuff to and i have a c-1 classic. but im trying to sell the esp and hollowbody becasue i dont play em much, and i want to put the money into a prs ce 24 maple top. i see em go for like 1000-1400 on ebay, and i tried 3 of em out at GC and sam ash and really liked all 3, they felt and sounded better than any other prs i have tried, its really the only other that impressed me besides the actual tremonti model.

*edit* figured i might as well ask you guys, im not sure which ce 24 to go for, the newer mahogany/maple or the older alder/maple. what do you guys think?

i asked over at the esp forums, a member that owned i think 4 horizons including the same one as mine told me it was maple/ alder. is there any way to know other than cutting it up?

Most people over there think it is ash, I owned one too and also believe it was ash as it was not bright enough for alder. someone at the ESP forum posted a long time ago this. By the way yours would be pre 87 by the jackson style headstock.

ESP Guitars

From the Bluebook of electric guitars:

ESP PHOENIX: asymmetrical hourglass stlye mahogony body, white pickguard, through body mahogony neck,22 fret bound rsewood fingerboard with dot inlay,etc.......

ESP M-II alder or ash body (solid color=alder, trans finish=ash)

ESP M-1 Custom Alder body, through body MAPLE neck....

ESP Horizon (1st Version/Pre 1987) Ash body

ESP horizon 2nd version/current production) Alder for solid finish, ash for trans finish.

hmmm very interesting, the person i bought it from said was an 89... but 87 was the last year with that headstock? it is a very bright sounding guitar though. i think the serial is 1207, but i know esp's serials arent really good for much. thanks for the info

Unless he bought that brand new in 1989 there is no way he would know the date. Even the blue book could be off on the Pre 87 as the ESP history is so shotty that they do not even know. You call them up and ask them and they will tell you they really cant help you.

When the blue book refers to pre 87 they mean the ones with the jackson style headstock. I am not sure exactly what year they changed headstocks, but it was somewhere before the 90's.
